6. Move the shift lever to the N position, then
remove the coin box.
9. While wearing gloves, reach under the center
panel and release each of the three bottom clips.
Carefully pull the center panel out toward you to
release the ten clips. Unplug the vehicle

7. Remove the mat and center panel lower trim (four
clips).

8. Open the accessory socket cover, and remove
the center lower cover (four self-tapping screws,
release the harness clip, and disconnect the
accessory socket connector).

10. Remove the two self-tapping screws and four bolts
that secure the radio brackets. Pull the audio unit
out toward you, unplug the six vehicle connectors
and the antenna lead and remove the audio unit.
12. Remove the weatherstrip. Remove the right front
kick panel (one screw clip and one clip).

11. Remove the right front side step trim (four clips).
13. Remove the glove box by removing the self-
tapping screw from the damper rod, then release
the two stoppers and remove the two bolts.

14. Using a felt-tip pen, mark the Music Link harness
as shown.
18. Route the Music Link harness DIN connector into
the 19 mm hole in the direction shown, and install
the grommet to the 19 mm hole.

15. Route the Music Link harness through the
grommet.

16. Cut one cushion tape into 4 equal pieces, and
wrap two pieces of the cushion tapes to the Music
Link harness at the measurements shown.
19. Route the Music Link harness through the glove
box opening to the audio unit opening.
17. To prevent damage, wrap electrical tape around
the drill bit at a point about 30 mm away from the
tip. While wearing eye protection, drill a 19 mm
(3/4 in.) hole through the marked location. Remove
all burrs from the drilled hole.

20. Insert the Music Link adapter unit into the unit
cushion.
22. Secure the Music Link adapter unit onto the
instrument panel with two long wire ties.

21. Route the Music Link harness and bus cable
through the audio unit opening, and connect the
Music Link harness DIN connector (White) and
bus cable DIN connector (Black) to the Music Link
adapter assembly. Note the location of the
connectors and the terminals.
23. Secure the Music Link harness to the vehicle pipe
with the two wire ties. (Align the mark you made in
step 14 with the wire tie as shown).

24. Secure the bus cable:
•
Bundle up the vehicle harness and secure it, the
bus cable, and Y-harness adapter with two wire ties
as shown.

Without the XM Radio: Align the bus cable 14-pin
connector with the vehicle 20-pin connector,
bundle up the excess bus cable, and secure it to
the vehicle harness with the two wire ties.

Connect the bus cable 14-pin connector and vehicle
14-pin connector (for XM radio) to the Y-harness
adapter 14-pin connector.

Attach one cushon tape around each Y-harness
adapter 14-pin connector.

Bundle up the excess bus cable, and secure it to
the vehicle harness with the two wire ties.

27. Check that all wire harnesses are routed properly
and all connectors are plugged in.

28. Reconnect the negative cable to the battery.
29. Enter the client’s radio anti-theft code. Reset the
radio station presets and the clock.

30. Reinstall all removed parts.
31. Turn the audio unit ON. Check that CDC EJECT,
or CD4 EJECT is shown on the audio unit display
while in the AUX mode (the Music Link is
recognized as an accessory CD changer).
NOTE: Whenever the battery is disconnected, the
driver’s AUTO function is disabled.

32. Start the engine. Push down on the driver’s
window switch until the window is fully open.

33. Pull up on the driver’s window switch fully to close
the window completely, then hold the switch for
2 seconds or more.

34. Test the window AUTO function.
